It’s Fall Family Photo season and I am excited to bring you a few outfit ideas and color palettes to work from!!! I hope these ideas are helpful for you when planning your family photos this year. I think the easiest way to plan outfits (for me) is to think about first, where I am shooting (is it a mountain backdrop with a lot of color in the trees, is it an open field)? Also, are you planning to hang the family photos in your home? What’s the decor like in your home? Another thing to consider is if you want everyone to be a little more dressy or casual? Once you have that nailed down, then you can start deciding on the color palette, or maybe you have a dress you really want to wear, and you build the palette around that piece!!! My suggestion is if you have a “busy, colorful background” or want to hang the photos in your home and want it to go with lots of decor, maybe stick to more neutral colored outfits. But if you are shooting outfits in a field, maybe you want to go more bold in the colors? Or maybe you do want to match the colors in your outfits to the background, that works too! Honestly, the most important thing is that you have fun with your family while doing it, and bring snacks for the little ones! 😉
You seriously can’t ever go wrong with neutrals! This will be timeless, will work well with any photo location and will look good on your wall if you plan to hang your photos!

This one is packed with warmer Fall tones and it’s not matchy matchy by any means, I just love how the colors complement each other.

Love the florals, plaid and the little touch of leopard in this one. Some fun pattern mixing in coordinating colors!
