Kileen + Kennedy | Me + Vivian
So I have been really hesitant and nervous about wearing swimsuit pictures and sharing with you all, but with the recent trend in #mombod and being PROUD of the mom body you have, I decided to share. Your body changes after pregnancy and child birth, but instead of being upset about it, moms should embrace it. Our bodies carried little tiny humans and THAT is just amazing. My body carried and gave birth to two beautiful children. My body has definitely changed after Vivian (my feet grew half a size – they didn’t with Austin’s), my boobs are saggier and flatter after nursing, my hips and thighs are bigger than ever, and my mom pooch is stubborn as can be and won’t go away. Again, I am being vulnerable by putting myself out there, so if we can keep this space positive, I would appreciate it. If you have anything negative to say, please don’t say it at all!! 😉 If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been going to Pure Barre workouts lately and trying to cut down on the sugar (although this one is proving to be a little bit harder). My body will probably never be the way I truly want it to be, like the way it was when I was 21 HA, but I’m not beating myself over it, so neither should you! If you are a fellow mama out there, I hope this message inspires you to embrace your body and love your curves.
But babies in swimsuits? Seriously, let’s just all look at Vivian in these pics please because I DIE! I can’t get over her little baby swimsuit, jelly sandals, sunglasses and headband. This was her first time at a splash park and I already can’t wait to take her back. Let’s just say that I already know that she is a more daring baby/child than my son, which could be good and bad ha! Why didn’t I think of taking her to splash pads earlier this summer? I hope we still have at least one more month of warm weather! Also, I want my children to remember me playing with them in the water when they grow up (instead of having a fear of wearing a swimsuit!), just like I took Vivian to this splash park (although she won’t remember this exact time, she had SO much fun and I plan to keep taking her back to pools and beaches as she grows older)!
Both our swimsuits are from Kortni Jeane. First, I love that they have suits for me and Vivian, that’s a definitely plus! They are located right here in Utah – which is pretty neat. And they have such a huge collection of top and bottom styles in a whole bunch of different colors and prints! High-waisted bottoms are seriously my fave this summer, if I’m wanting to wear a 2 piece.
