I’ve really been having fun with remixing outfits lately for my own clothes and one person that I probably don’t feature enough anymore on the blog is my son! Yes, I have a 3, almost 4 year old son (as well as a 13 month old baby girl that you see all the time on here). I met up with a friend I met on Instagram the other day and we were recent friends but she had no idea that I had a son. 🙁 Well, it doesn’t help that he doesn’t super love getting his pic taken, well I take that back, it takes some serious bribing but he will do it. But anyways, when I found out about this shop called BokuBaby it was the perfect thing to revive my love for little boy style. For the past year or so, I definitely have spent more of my time on little girl’s clothing and might have neglected my son’s wardrobe a bit. But the good thing is, boy’s wardrobes don’t have all the extra accessories and flair like girls do, but I just made sure to stock his with different styles and colors of pants, graphic tees, sweaters cardigans or zip-up hoodies and a few pairs of shoes, scarves and hats and he was golden. I love BokuBaby because their shop is filled with all these types of clothing pieces, but is pretty monochromatic in color, which honestly makes it more timeless and easy to mix and match.
I was sent 6 pieces for my son and I took had some fun styling them 8 different ways for fall/winter (with 2 pairs of shoes, 3 hats, 2 scarves). For me, I considered this a travel capsule wardrobe in that when we travel it’s good to have a mix of casual to dressy types of clothing to cover all types of occasions that you may face! Sure, you may think travel style is all comfy clothes, but you may want your kid to dress up a little to visit family, friends or going out to dinner.
Here’s the breakdown of items:
Hole-y Tee
Appaman Warren Shirt (Bleached Chambray)
Appaman Mercer Sweater (Navy Speckle)
Appaman Kent Sweater (Forest Night)
Appaman Parker Sweats (Black)
Appaman Wool Tailored Pants (Tweed)
And finally I put my son in one of my favorite outfits of the bunch of 8 and snapped some pics! 🙂
Oh and little sister decided to make an appearance too! 😉
I haven’t taken my own pictures in awhile but when I do I use Lightroom to edit! My friend Alina over at Style By Alina just came up with a new Lightroom Preset so perfect for fashion bloggers (like bright, clean, crisp pictures)! For these pictures, I did my normal editing and then added the Santorini Tone Neutral + preset from the Santorini collection to basically even out any colors that were too yellow and brighten things up a bit. She is running a flash sale this Sunday – Monday so if you are looking for some new editing tools, you should check these out!
And the next time you are debating how to dress your little boy, don’t forget to check out BokuBaby!
