A few weeks ago, I went into a MAC store with the goal of finding a red lipstick for myself.  Most the times I love shopping with my girl friends, but once in awhile, it’s just nice to shop alone and not be on anyone else’s schedule.  Do you feel the same way?  Anyhow, my goal: find red lipstick.  Up until this day, I never owned a TRUE RED lipstick and since I’m getting more obsessed with lipsticks lately, I knew I had to add a red one to my collection.  So I grab an SA and tell her my goal… and she goes hunting around the store for red lipsticks and comes back with about 6-7 different kinds.  Some were too pink, too purple, too orange… I didn’t immediately fall in love with any lipstick… until MAC Viva Glam I.  Oh boy, how I loved it and so did the SA!  It was one that Dancing Branflakes had suggested to me over Twitter too, so having that personal recommendation was great too.  Now I have found my perfect red lipstick and I can’t help but wear it when I go out.  I am a strong believer that you really need to try lipsticks on to complement your skin tone/color/hair/eyes, etc. before buying.  I do have MAC Viva Glam IV which is more of a purple berry everyday color which I love as well.

I feel like this past year or two, have been the year of gold for me.  In high school and college and for the first few years of my working life, I have always been drawn to silver.  I felt gold was too “old lady” of a color, but now… I can’t stop buying and wearing gold.  Maybe that makes me an old lady now?  😉  Anyhow, I do actually have a good amount of accessories and shoes with silver details so I decided to go all “silver” in this outfit… well except with a hint of gold in the gorgeous statement necklace from T+J Designs, but I think it goes well w/ all the silver.  I am loving the little jeweled cuff on this neutral Wallis top I am wearing.  This is my last outfit in the Wallis Summer Style competition – it’s been real fun styling these pieces from Wallis, that store just has so many fun items.  To see the other outfits, visit here and here.
