My fashion trend prediction for 2011!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hope you all had a wonderful New Year celebration! My husband and I celebrated with another couple at a tapas dinner and drinks at a local bar. Right before the countdown, we were actually playing Photo Hunt (one of my FAVORITE touchscreen games from my college days), hehe. After hanging out at the bar, we went back to my friend’s house and watched Youtube videos til pretty late! It was a super fun night! 🙂

So I just wanted to start off my first post of the year with my blog plan for 2011!! First off, I want to be a little more true to my blog name, Sandy a la mode. I think I got the “Sandy” part down as I always post things that I am doing or things that I like. But as for “a la mode”, there’s actually two meanings:

According to the prevailing style or fashion.
Served with ice cream: apple pie à la mode.

With that said, I’m going to dedicate this year of blogging to fashion and ice cream. Kidding. But you’d still follow me if I did, right?? 😉 OK, all jokes aside, I decided to kick off the year with an “In Style” post because I only started doing these posts at the end of 2010 and I just wanted to let you know that these are here to stay and you’ll be seeing more of my crazy-what-i-think-is-stylish-but-may-not-really-be-that-stylish outfits in 2011. 🙂 I’m hoping to post lots of fun casual outfits but also sprinkle in my business casual outfits to share with those other cubicle chicas out there! Where ya at??

So we all know that boots are IN this season, well I think they’re pretty much every winter, right? But anyhow, to fancy up the boot look, I suggest wearing a pair of knee highs under your boots and having the knee highs peek out over the top of your boots (and you can wear tights too like I am if your cold or ditch the tights if you like)! I think it’ d be totally cute if your knee high socks had a button or pom poms on the sides too! Yea yea? Do you agree?

Oh yes and at the end of last year mustard + grey was my fave color combo, but I think mustard + hunter green is starting to be a new fave!!
