Today I am super excited to introduce to you the gorgeous shop that is Grace Hester Designs! Lately, I’ve been obsessed with font and typography! I really feel that it can effect the look and feel of things pretty drastically, whether it be cute, whimsical, modern or traditional! Grace’s shop is full of prints of nursery rhymes, family keepsakes, birth announcements, wedding posters, custom stationery, calendars and more, with tons of font and color options to make your order truly personal. Her shop will surely make you smile, and even better, it’s a shop for all ages and many occasions!

{MEET THE DESIGNER}

1) What three words would you use to describe your shop?
Modern, family-oriented, typography-based
(cheating with a hyphenated words *hee hee*)

2) What inspired you to start your shop?
I was always making things with my hands and creating learning materials for my daughter. Then I stumbled upon Etsy one day and the ease of use and the readily-available market made it too tempting for me to resist opening a shop. Initially, we opened shop while I was on my maternity leave for my second daughter. I say “we” as in my mom and I who was visiting from Singapore. We thought it would be a fun venture for us to sell our crafts online. My first item that sold was the Birdie bag which my mom sewed using the Amy Butler pattern! Let’s say we’ve changed things up quite a bit since. Now I focus primarily on prints and paper goods that a modern family would enjoy.

3) Where is your favorite travel spot and why?
We love traveling. LOVE. When my husband and I were enjoying our honeymoon period, we traveled quite a bit. Now with two young ones in tow, we’ve slowed down a little but when they get a little older, we hope to pick things up again. But I find that the best time I have is still when I return home to Singapore. Three reasons, all beginning with “F”: Family, Friends, and the Food!

4) What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Haagen Daaz’s Rum N’ Raisin!
