I am sure you are all already followers of the fabulous In Honor Of Design blog (I mean, if you aren’t you really are missing out)… but did you know IHOD has a few shops too? There’s an accessory shop, a wedding shop, and a Little Miss/Ladies hair/accessory shop too! Anna’s talent seriously expands sooo far! I ordered one of the knit hats she sells in her shop for a baby shower present and the mama-to-be was so happy to receive it! And I can attest that the quality of her products and packaging were impeccable! She’s great with design, makes the prettiest things, and to top it all off, she is a mama of one (soon to be two) and an ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART! {MEET THE ARTIST}
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a mother of an adorable little boy with one on the way! When I have time (usually during nap time:D), I work as a graphic designer and accessory designer. I feel so blessed to be able to do something I really love, and have the opportunity to work from home at the same time.
2) How did you get into making accessories?
I had a whim one weekend to sign up for a craft fair and see if I could swing it. It was a successful and such a fun experience. One week later, I started my etsy shop, and have been running ever since. I have loved being able to design and create accessories for Little Misses and Ladies:)
3) What is your favorite thing about blogging?
It has been such a great creative outlet for me. My blog is my space to share all those inspirational and creative finds I come across as a designer. What I didn’t expect is the community of people I would meet! I have loved getting to know fellow bloggers!
4) Have any advice for new shop owners?
Polish your brand! Make sure everything that comes from your business has a consistent look and feel. It really helps as a consumer to get a professional and attractive experience of your shop. You only have a few moments to catch someone’s attention. I probably re-designed my brand three times in one year until I finally achieved a look that reflected my business.
Good photography is probably the most important aspect of selling a product. There are so many cool resources (etsy being one of them) out there for achieving great photos using a simple digital!
5) What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Well considering ice cream is my favorite dessert, it is hard to pick a favorite! Nutella, Pomegranate, and Frozen Custard Vanilla:)
